TIMING ANALYSIS FOR AMBITIOUS GUITARISTS

You hear that a passage isn't quite clean – but is it due to timing, a specific movement, or a systematic deviation?

CHECK-O-MATIC detects your guitar attacks, compares them to the metronome, and shows in real-time whether you're playing ahead of, on, or behind the beat.

For advanced guitarists, musicians, and guitar teachers who want to not just feel timing, but objectively analyze it.

Here you can make timing problems visible, analyze them, and improve them specifically.

See Your Timing in Real-Time

In the video, you'll see how CHECK-O-MATIC captures individual attacks and visualizes their temporal position relative to the beat. This turns recurring deviations into concrete information you can use for targeted improvement.

Instead of just noting that a passage "isn't quite there yet," you'll recognize where and in what direction your timing deviates.

Latency Calibration: Measurements You Can Trust

A timing analysis is only meaningful if delays caused by the microphone, audio interface, and computer are correctly accounted for.

In CAL mode, the system plays a series of pings. CHECK-O-MATIC automatically determines the existing latency via the connected microphone and then accounts for it during timing measurement.

This way, the timing radar shows not your hardware's delay, but as precisely as possible the temporal position of your attacks.

Especially with small deviations, this automatic calibration is crucial for reproducible and reliable results.

RUN Mode: Visualize Timing Deviations in Real-Time

In RUN mode, CHECK-O-MATIC detects your guitar attacks and compares their temporal position to the metronome. The previously determined system latency is automatically taken into account.

The timing radar immediately shows whether an attack is ahead of the beat, exactly on the beat, or behind it. Over several measures, this reveals not only individual outliers but also recurring tendencies – such as consistently rushing, lagging behind during difficult movements, or increasing fluctuations at higher tempos.

This provides you with an objective reference for timing problems that are noticeable during playing but often difficult to pinpoint accurately by ear alone.

XXL Window: Analyze Timing Progress Over Longer Passages

The XXL window extends the snapshot of RUN mode into a clear timing progress display. Your attacks are displayed over several measures, allowing you to recognize not only individual deviations but also recurring patterns.

For example, you can see if you consistently play slightly ahead of the beat over a longer period, fall behind in challenging sections, or become less precise with increased playing time. Changes due to higher tempo, string changes, or specific movement sequences also become clearly visible in the progress display.

This makes the XXL window particularly suitable for longer practice sessions, direct comparison of different tempo levels, and use in guitar lessons.

Instead of just evaluating a single attack, you'll recognize how stable and reproducible your timing truly is.

Find Out How Precise Your Timing Really Is

CHECK-O-MATIC doesn't just show individual early or late attacks. Over longer passages, you'll recognize whether your playing remains stable, whether you systematically play ahead or behind the beat, and where your precision decreases.

Test the timing analysis with your own guitar, microphone, or audio interface and get an objective picture of your playing.

Don't estimate how precisely you play – measure.
