CAB-O-MATIC doesn't try to replace your guitar amplifier.
The idea is exactly the opposite:
Use the amp or preamp whose sound and feel you already love – and simply add the virtual guitar cabinet.
Suitable signals can be fed into your audio interface via Line Out, Preamp Out, or FX Send, for example.
The cabinet IR then takes over the linear sound character of the speaker, cabinet, microphone, and microphone position.
This way, the response of your real amp is preserved while you can change the cabinet sound at any time.

The integrated mixer

The relevant signals can be controlled separately via the integrated mixer.

Analyze timing simultaneously
CAB-O-MATIC works within the same GIT-O-MATIK where CHECK-O-MATIC also analyzes your timing. The input signal can be used for timing evaluation independently of the cabinet sound.
So you hear your amp through your selected cabinet IR – while CHECK-O-MATIC simultaneously detects whether your pick attack is ahead of, on, or behind the beat.

Play along to backing tracks with PLAY-O-MATIC
In combination with PLAY-O-MATIC, CAB-O-MATIC becomes a complete practice setup.
Load a backing track, set a difficult passage as a loop, and choose the cabinet sound that best fits the song.
This lets you run:
real amp + cabinet IR + backing track or real amp + cabinet IR + timing analysis
together in GIT-O-MATIK.
Use your own cabinet IRs
CAB-O-MATIC is not limited to a fixed built-in cabinet selection.
You can load your own compatible cabinet IRs and thus use exactly the cabinets, speakers, and microphone positions that fit your setup.
This also makes CAB-O-MATIC excellent for direct comparison of your own or external IR collections.
TCI - True Cabinet Imaging
We also create custom cabinet IRs for GIT-O-MATIK using our TCI – True Cabinet Imaging process.
In this process, real cabinets, real speakers, and real microphone positions are captured with a controlled measurement chain. The goal is not to artificially "beautify" the resulting IR afterwards.
We measure what's really there – and then let the character remain.
For example, it has been shown that even several speakers of the same model within the same 4×12 cabinet can sound significantly different.
Exactly these differences should be preserved in a TCI IR.

Your setup is this easy
1. Connect your amp or preamp to the audio interface via a suitable output.
2. Start GIT-O-MATIK and open CAB-O-MATIC.
3. Load one or more cabinet IRs.
4. Compare IRs directly using keys 1–4.
5. Play through headphones, monitors, or PA.
Done.
Important safety note
Never connect the loudspeaker/speaker output of a guitar amplifier directly to a standard audio interface.
A speaker output can carry high power and damage your audio interface or other devices.
Only use suitable outputs such as:
- Line Out
- Preamp Out
- FX Send
and always follow the manufacturer's instructions for your amplifier.
For tube amplifiers, the prescribed speaker load or a suitable load box must also remain connected unless the manufacturer specifies otherwise.
